To avoid coming back from your trip disappointed, it’s good to know what to expect before you jump on that plane all excited. Now I believe you should always do some reseach about a country before heading off but for a country like Cuba, this is kind of a deal breaker.

A brief look back on my trip to Cuba
Cuba is an interesting country, that we tourists – because at the end of the day that’s what we are – will never fully understand. Certainly not after a first visit and definitely not when we don’t speak fluent Spanish. Just accept it and have the time of your life! To be honest, traveling Cuba […]
Edinburgh in 48 hours
You can’t go to Edinburgh without a visit to the castle. Well actually you can. It’s a beautiful building for sure but way too crowded for my liking. Luckily Edinburgh has more than just a beautiful castle. A few weeks back I flew to the Scottisch capital for a hen party and decided to add […]
Railay Beach: dream paradise or tourist trap?
Railay Beach: a mix of Jamaica and Lloret de Mar with an Asian flavor. Sounds a bit odd – it is. Railay is a peninsula within the Krabi province. Due to the limestone rocks it’s only accessible by boat from Ao Nang or Ao Nam Mao. Its remote location guarantees for a relaxed and pleasant […]

Spend at least 3 days in Kanchanaburi
Kanchanaburi is situated about 2 hours west of Bangkok. The city of the equally named province is famous for the Birdge over the River Kwai and Burma railway. Known for its tragic history and scenic beauty Kanchanaburi was on top of my list. Spend at least 3 full days to explore the beauty of West […]
Maeklong & Amphawa
Although Bangkok has a few local markets of its own, which are worth to have a look at, the markets in Maeklong and Amphawa are just a little bit different. The Maeklong Railway Market might be a bit of a tourist trap but a market on a railway – which is still in use – […]
Why you should make a day trip to Ayutthaya
As capital of Siam – former Thailand – Ayutthaya was known as world’s largest city. Hard to imagine huh?! According to a bunch of Europeans it was also the most beautiful one. Until it was destroyed by the Burmese army in 1767. Yes a very long time ago but a little history never hurt nobody. […]
